Special Projects - County Fair Recycling Initiative

This is a Wildlife Learning Company project to address recycling at County Fairs throughout New York State through an environmental education service learning project for High School Youth.

The pilot project was conducted in Summer 2006 at the Otsego County Fair, where students from Otsego sucessfully diverted over 1 1/4 ton of recyclable material from the waste stream. The project continued in 2007 with a diversion of more than one ton in Otsego County and close to 3/4 tons in Chenango County. A total of 3 tons recycled to date over the course of 3 Fair-weeks.
